Performance space: Tranquil Submersion
Tranquil Submersion is a temporary performance space dedicated to the essence of thriving life within Berlin. Located on the iconic River Spree, the conceptual and fluid structure moves along the banks, allowing the public to become part of the river and gain a new perspective within the urbanized surroundings. The main kaupapa of this concept focuses on acknowledging the River Spree and working toward a pristine site of tranquillity and growth.
The central tree-like form reflects the essence of community while also performing a distinct capillary-like action. The process begins by filtering water from the river and pulling it up through circular pipes. As the water reaches the top of the branches, it falls in rhythm with the performer. The filtered water is then recycled and drained back into the river, actively contributing to improving its quality.
